A Legacy of Craftsmanship: The De La Garza Difference
Elite Stoneworks LLC is proudly owned and operated by a third-generation De La Garza business owner, Matthew De La Garza. The family’s journey in custom tile began in 1946 when Johnny De La Garza, Matthew’s grandfather, entered the booming Dallas construction scene, learning the trade and eventually starting his own company. His brothers, Luther and Severo (Sid), soon followed, with Sid specializing and becoming an apprentice in the Tile Setters Union before establishing his own successful business in 1962. Sid’s foresight in focusing on the lucrative custom tile installation market and building strong relationships with custom home builders was key to the family’s enduring success.
Rudy De La Garza, Sid’s oldest son and Matthew’s father, further expanded the family enterprise in 1976. He solidified agreements with local tile suppliers and broadened service offerings to include granite fabrication and the sale of materials.
Today, Matthew continues this tradition, ensuring the De La Garza name remains synonymous with high-quality, unique designs and a commitment to excellence in natural stone installation. Matt, like his father and grandfather before him, is committed to providing the best quality service and craftsmanship on every job. Once your custom design has been approved and the perfect materials selected (including ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, slate, and brick pavers ), we’ll schedule your installation with one of our skilled tile professional technicians. Before any work begins, our technician will meticulously inspect and prepare the work area, ensuring the surface is clean and ready.
